French
born Jimmy Taverniti redefined the influence of "American vintage style" in
Europe during the 1980's. Jimmy interpreted this signature style fusing
sophisticated fabrications with intricate attention to detailing and
construction on denim. In 2004, his love for vintage jeans brought him to Los
Angeles where he joined forces with jean guru Paul Guez and launched his high
end contemporary denim collection “Taverniti So Jeans.”
A favorite among celebrities,
Taverniti So Jeans are a perfect combination of
sexy sophisticated Italian fits with the worn out used look of American vintage.
His creative philosophy for this particular collection is “how to turn new in to
old.” All of the fabrics Jimmy uses are carefully analyzed before being
integrated into his line. Silk, denim and leather are among his favorites.
Indigo dye, natural pigments, and random discoloration are some of the effects
that have been pioneered by Jimmy for the Taverniti So Jeans collection. The
styling is "vintage chic". Each pair of jeans are intentionally finished with
the worn "patina". Casual yet elegant, Taverniti So Jeans continues to evolve
the collection this year with the heritage of an All-American vintage aesthetic.
Jimmy feels that a cleaner sophisticated look is what’s to come. Darker hues of
Indigo with simple rinses and silicone washes as well as a lot of black and
safari greens is what Taverniti So Jeans is concentrating on. “Skinny straight
bodies for bottoms is the only thing we’ll see on the streets in a few months, I
couldn’t give them away a year ago” when his entire denim collection was solely
variances of the skinny jean. Taverniti So Jeans will be focusing on various
back pocket stitching that will tie back to his different denim bodies (boot,
slim boot, straight, and skinny leg openings).
